Then, trade the armor with him and press T to make him wear it.
You need to have Danse as a follower and then find the power armor from a station on Prydwen. The Buzz Lightyear Paladin Danse mod is now available through Nexusmods ( via Kotaku), though getting the Buzz power armor is somewhat involved.
